Join one of Europe's leading technical education programs and kickstart your career.
The Automation Technician program in Denmark is a hands-on vocational education designed to develop specialists in automation and control technology. Combining in-depth theoretical knowledge with practical experience, the program equips apprentices with the skills to install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems and equipment, ensuring they are ready for a dynamic career in the industry.
Denmark is known for its excellence in technology, sustainability, and innovation. As a global leader in green energy, robotics, and smart manufacturing, Denmark offers the perfect environment to start your journey as an automation technician apprentice.
The Automation Technician program is fully taught in English, making it accessible to international students. At the same time, Danish language training is included to help students integrate into the workplace and daily life in Denmark.
As an automation technician, you will become an expert in machines, robots, elevators, escalators, and other systems. You’ll learn how to set up and adjust these machines for production and processes, troubleshoot issues, and repair different components.
In modern industrial production, many of the demanding, heavy, and repetitive tasks are performed by machines, conveyor belts, and robots—such as moving and packing products and other processes. These machines are controlled using hydraulic pressure, pneumatic pressure, electric motors, and magnets, along with an array of relays, optical, electrical, and mechanical sensors.
Automation technicians have opportunities to further their education within the field, including pursuing an academy profession degree or a professional bachelor's degree in automation technology or related disciplines.
The Automation Technician program offers an exciting and dynamic pathway for those passionate about technology and automation, providing a hands-on, technical career with strong future prospects.
The Automation Technician program combines classroom learning with hands-on training through an apprenticeship. JKS helps secure an apprenticeship by matching each student with a company, ensuring they gain practical experience in a real work environment. During the apprenticeship, students apply their skills to real automation projects, work alongside industry professionals, and build a strong foundation for their future careers. This combination of theoretical knowledge and workplace training ensures they are fully prepared to work as a automation technician after graduation.
The program typically lasts 3½ years and consists of a combination of
school-based learning and on-thejob training in a company. It is divided
into the following phases:
The first half year is a foundational course where the apprentice receive a broad introduction to electrical and electronic systems, mechanics, and automation technology.
After the basic course, the main course follows, alternating between school periods and practical training in a company. During this phase, students further specialize in automation technology and gain hands-on experience.
Automation technicians also have opportunities for further education within their field, such as pursuing an academy profession degree or a professional bachelor’s degree in automation technology or related areas.
